Our little family visited Farm Fresh in Serdang, Selangor and we would like to share our detailed Farm Fresh UPM review with you.
Me and my husband wanted to bring our son – Little E to visit because he is fond of the Old MacDonald’s nursery rhyme and we wanted him to experience being on a real farm, seeing and petting the farm animals.

What We Like About Farm Fresh UPM
- Many areas to take photos/OOTD
We found quite a few locations to take some photos including at the Farm Fresh sign and the main barn entrance. It is definitely worth taking some photos to look back on in the future.
- Plenty of seating areas and benches
We were glad there were ample benches and areas around, allowing us to pause and take a break while exploring the farm.
- Unlimited tractor and barrel ride per entry
The tractor and barrel ride are two of the main attractions at Farm Fresh UPM. Visitors can take unlimited rides per entry. My little boy especially enjoyed the tractor ride.
- Alike being in New Zealand
Stepping into the farm of green grass and having cows around can give you a feeling that you are in New Zealand.
Things You Can’t Miss Doing At Farm Fresh UPM
- Tractor Ride
Don’t miss out on the tractor ride on the farm. How many chances would your kids have to ride a tractor, especially if they grow up in a city? Each ride takes about 20 minutes. Be prepared to queue up for the tractor tour, as there are only 3 tractors. There will be a guide sharing information about the farm, fish pond, and other facilities on the farm. It’s a unique experience for my family.
- Seeing The Barn
The barn is a must-visit place at Farm Fresh UPM. This is where you get to see dairy cows (also known as “the Ladies”). There is some jazz music playing in the background for the cows’ enjoyment and see some cows rubbing their bodies against the massage poles. Do catch the cow milking process too.
Farm Fresh UPM Activities
- See the cows
The cows are the main attractions at Farm Fresh UPM. There are many in the barns and some roam freely on the grass.
- Petting zoo
There are rabbits, deers and other animals at the petting zoo section. Little E smiled when he saw the little bunnies hopping around.
- Aviary
The aviary section had peacocks, ducks, chickens, and pigeons.
- Mini aquarium
The mini aquarium section houses some fighting fish. Although there are not many fish species there, it is still worth getting a close look at them.
- Flower tunnels
As we walked along the path, we found many beautiful flower tunnels and plant tunnels to snap some pictures for our memories.
- Fresh picks
They have an in-house grocery store where you can get Farm Fresh products, fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. Our family enjoys Farm Fresh milk, so we managed to get a glass bottle here.
- Pony ride
The pony ride (separate RM10 per ride) is another attraction for kids available only on the weekends.
- Educational corner
Their educational corner is a great place to learn about farming sustainability initiatives. We learned some new things including rainwater harvesting and saw the worm composting facility.
- Greenhouse for vegetables and flower nursery
Food & Beverage Options in Farm Fresh UPM
- The Acre Café. Check out the Acre Café serving pastas and pizzas. Prices are on the higher side here.
- Cream Houz. If you are a fan of yogurt and milk-based soft serve, don’t miss out on getting some for your family at Cream Houz.
- Jom Cha serves a variety of milk-based and boba drinks. Great to quench your thirst after exploring the farm.
- Inside Scoop. You can enjoy a variety of delicious ice-cream flavours at Inside Scoop (local homegrown Malaysian ice-cream brand).
Farm Fresh UPM Ticket Price
Ticket price For Malaysian
Adults: RM15, Child* and seniors**: RM10
You can buy the entry tickets at Farm Fresh UPM or on the Klook website or mobile app. The ticket price is the same for Malaysians. But if you want to skip the queue, then get your tickets on Klook. Admission is Free for kids under 4 years old.
Ticket Price For Non-Malaysian
Adult: RM35, Child* and seniors**: RM25
For non-Malaysians, do buy your ticket on Klook because it is cheaper (Adult: RM29.90 and Child* and seniors**: RM21.90).
*Child: 4 to 12 years old, ** Senior: 60 years old and above

How To Get To Farm Fresh UPM
- By Car
Getting there by car is the easiest and fastest way, especially if you have kids. There is a big free outdoor parking.
- By Grab/Taxi
Getting there by Grab or taxi is an alternative way. Just search for Farm Fresh UPM or give the address that we provide above, and you can reach there easily.
- By Public Transport
You can take the train and stop at UPM MRT Station. After you get off the train, take a public bus to Astana Putra UPM. You can either take a 7 minute walk or use Grab (e-hailing service) to Farm Fresh UPM after you get off the bus.
How Long Do People Spend In Farm Fresh UPM?
We spent about 1 hour and 30 minutes at Farm Fresh UPM. Consider allocating about 2 hours there if you want to enjoy yourself at a slower pace, especially if you want to have your meal there.
Tips For Planning Your Farm Fresh UPM Visit
- Apply sunscreen
Do remember to apply sunscreen often to prevent sunburn from being under the hot sun.
- Bring a cap/hat and or umbrella
Do wear a cap or hat or bring along an umbrella.
- Carry a hand fan
It can be hot and humid when it is not a windy day. You can bring along a mini hand fan if you are scared of heat.
- Bring a small towel to wipe away your sweat
You can get sweaty easily under the hot sun. Do remember to bring a small towel along to wipe sweat.
- Check weather conditions before your planned visit
Since it is an outdoor trip, do check the weather forecast before your visit. You wouldn’t want to walk around in the rain.
- Buy tickets on Klook
We recommend that you buy the tickets on Klook to save money. Best of all, you can skip the queue and spend more time on the farm.
- Weekday visit
Choose a weekday (not during school holidays) to visit Farm Fresh UPM because it would be less crowded compared to the weekends and public holidays.
- Wear proper and comfortable walking shoes
There will be plenty of walking to do. Do wear proper and comfortable walking shoes during your visit.
- Go in the morning and end for lunch or visit after 4pm
The best time to visit will be around 10am. After exploring the farm, you can choose to enjoy lunch there or head somewhere else for a meal. If morning is not suitable for you, go around 4pm where you will be able to see some farm animals roaming freely.
What We Thought Can Be Improved At Farm Fresh UPM
- More informational posters and signages
It would be nice if there were more informational posters on the farm animals and plants.
- Waiting time for tractor ride can be long
There is a map signage at the main barn entrance. It would be useful if there was a printed map pamphlet or virtual map to scan for ease of exploring the place.
- Shaded waiting area for tractor ride
It would be great if there were benches in a covered area for those queuing up for the tractor ride. Currently those interested in going on the tractor ride had to stand in line to wait in the hot sun.
Is Farm Fresh UPM Worth It?
Farm Fresh UPM is definitely worth your visit (in our honest opinion). Nowadays, it is hard for many people to connect with nature. Farm Fresh UPM is a place where the whole family, especially the little ones, can get close to animals and learn more about farming and environmental conservation efforts.
